I've Been Tagged!

My dear friend Nicole has tagged me!

I am supposed to tell you seven things you might not know about me.

So here goes:

1) My maiden name was "Bean." People who have met me since I have been married find that very funny for some reason. But "Betsy Bean" is kind of a cool kid name, and now I have a real grownup name. And, growing up in New England, it was always easy to buy clothes with my name on them, as Mr. "L.L. Bean" is sort of known around those parts...

2) I'm not quite there yet, but I suspect I will be quite the "granola grandma" when I get older...perhaps I'll let my hair go gray and braid it in a big braid down my back, and wear jumpers and birkinstocks or crocs, and be quite happy growing old the way God intended me to, thank you very much.

3) I am so happy that it overtakes me. I am more peaceful at this point in my life than I have ever been before. I look forward to every single day, and want to just randomly hug people in the grocery store, and tell them how very lucky they are to have a life to live...

4) I am crazy in love with my dog. I've had other dogs before that I've loved just fine, but Kirby is MY dog - I love everything he does, and I spoil him rotten (although he is very well behaved). I love it when he sits at my feet and puts his chin on the top of my foot. He is the BEST dog ever.

5) I sleep with a white noise machine - it has improved my sleep a lot. I am a horrible insomniac, but listening to the rain forest, or the beach, or a thunderstorm seems to help a lot.

6) I have a very big, very purple bruise on my upper right arm. Its the size of a baseball - and, you guessed it - came from a baseball!

7) I hate horror movies. It disturbs me that people's mind can create some of the junk that is out there - its very creepy to me that people can think that way.

I don't know who's been tagged and who hasn't, so I tag...Julie, Camille, Annette, Monica and Shelley.

Wow!

Its been a while since I've blogged. I don't know about my fellow bloggers, but sometimes I have so much going on, and so much to blog about that I get kind of a "traffic jam" in my head when I try to get on and write.

I think of a thousand things I want to write about, ponder about, celebrate, and then I get overwhelmed with it when I try to sort it all out.

At any rate, I have been very busy, but have always stopped by to see how everyone is doing. So much has happened in my little cyberworld and I have checked in on all of you as you have celebrated birthdays, and birth days, and first days of Little League, and dance classes, and all of the wonderful things that remind us of how very blessed we are.

And I have prayed for those of you who have little ones who are sick, or who have had surgery, or are just having a rough spot.

Everything that has kept me busy has been very good things, that have also kept me very happy. This week, we will be winding down our Livee's Loonies project, as Miss Olivia celebrates her third birthday on Thursday.

It has been such an amazing campaign to be a part of - I have felt so inspired and so very, very blessed as we have worked on this, and every day seems to bring yet another reason to live joyfully - I've met many new people, and had the opportunity to hear many new life stories, and, of course, I have fallen hopelessly, madly in love with Livee herself.

We have made a short presentation that celebrates Olivia life, and have distributed more than 100 copies of it. Two weeks ago, this was a "one time" presentation to one group, and it has grown incredibly since then.

I am trying to convert it so anyone can watch it on youtube, but I just need to find the time to do that!

The money Olivia's family hoped to raise for CHEO will be close to ten times their original goal. I am so proud of them, and will shed tears of pride and happiness as I watch their family deliver their check on the telethon.

And in the midst of that, Little League has started for us. As Wayne and I are the primary organizers for 12 teams, it is a lot of behind the scenes work getting everything ready for everyone to play. No matter how early we start, it just creeps up on us, and suddenly, there it is.

We had a great weekend for the kids to play, and it was a lot of fun to see some of them back again. We are looking forward to a very good season - there is nothing more heartwarming than seeing a group of 5-year-olds scrambling for the ball, or running the bases the wrong way, or tagging out their own team member, lol.

Tuesday night I am taking a Facilitator's Training Course so that I can go into various schools next year and teach about Inclusion - both for children with special needs, and for other minorities. I am very excited about it, and hope this will lead me further on my journey to my destiny! :)

A very dear person gave me a copy of The Secret this week, and I am trying to devour the book - she was very sweet and flattering, and told me that after reading it, she believes I am living The Secret and don't even know it.

Of course, I took a few days to begin it as one very big, very sweet, very drooly puppy decided my reading glasses would make for great entertainment one day and chewed them into pieces. Argh!! Its one of the only fatalities we've had with him, and he is so cute with that big head of his and those old grandpa droopy eyes, that I quickly forgave him.

So...that's what's been keeping me so busy!!!

And now...I've been tagged as well!!
